Best laid plans...

Best laid plans...

"The best-laid plans of mice and men oft go astray" - Robert Burns. "Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails” - Proverbs 19:21. Both of these quotes tell us that even though we may plan and make preparations, what happens isn't always up to us. It just so happens that those statements ring very true on this Monday morning. Hoping we could open THE WORKSHOP on November 1 we have been busy planning, preparing, building, making, and staging. But our opening will have to be postponed and we will have to wait.

It would be easy to see this as a setback and be discouraged. But perhaps it is a better laid plan that is making us take pause. As we wait for our final inspections and permission to open, this time can be used to slow down, reflect, regroup, and continue to build and prepare for something wonderful to happen. It is too easy to get wrapped up in the projects, schedules, plans, and details that we forget about the bigger picture. A little slide back doesn't mean disaster, it just means we climb again, this time a little stronger, a bit humbler, and grateful for the chance.

So, as I wait, I prayerfully ask for continued guidance. I ask how it is to best spend my time in the coming days. I pray this time can be used to make the opening something special and wonderful, that it will show our purpose and passion to serve and elevate others.

See you soon.
