Fair trade is a global movement made up of a diverse network of producers, companies, consumers, advocates, and organizations putting people and planet first.  “Fair trade” means that an equitable partnership exists between producers of goods in developing countries and retailers in developed countries. The fair-trade approach supports many social business practices that advocate for higher standards for producers’ pay, work atmosphere, non-discrimination, no forced labor, women's empowerment, environmental protection, and others. The Workshop is proud to be a part of the movement and solution. By offering fair trade goods for sale in our boutique, we are providing opportunities for artisan makers around the world.
